Application
The triple pole Rotating isolator is gang operated and designe for outdoor application. The isolator is designed to suit substations and distribution network, where the system stability is much greater and operation is trustworthy. The Main function of this product is to isolate the System as network.
Contacts
Fix contacts are multi finger hard drawn tin or silver plated copper flat, moulded in reverse loop patten. This finger are mounted on aluminium support and whole assembly is fixed on M.S. bracket with bimetallic plate. Moving contact is made from hard drawn copper pipe with pressed end in diamond shape and tin or silver plated. SS springs are provided with insuleted buffers.
Construction
Each pole of solator is consist of galvanized steel base, post type or solid core insulators of reputed make, moving and fix contacts, double bearing type revlving base, interlocking if required, linkages for turn and twist operation, steel tubes and M.S. turned grippers are provided for coupling the phases. For mannul operation of isolator gear type operating mechanism and for earth switch operation bang type operating mechanism is provided with necessory auxilary contacts with electrical and mechanical interlocks and pad locking arrangement.
Operation
To achieve high contact pressure combined with easy operation and self cleaning of contacts turn and twist mechanism is provided on the center rotating insulator. A spring loaded linkages retains the blade in one position where it can entre the contact freely as it swings to the close condition. As the blade swing restricted by fix contact, it starts to turn. The spring loaded linkages causes the blade to ratate on its axis so that the contact is get pressurised. Similarly when isolator has to be open contact pressure restrict the blade to swing. The spring loaded linkages causes the blade to turn and resulting the release of contact pressure, finally free exit of contact to open position.
Installation
It is designed to be mounted in horizontal upright position on 2 nos. channels based on structure. Install three phases of isolator on structure parallel to each other, couple the pole with coupling pipe, link it with operating lever, align all the elements in ON position, fix the operating pipe vertically and clamp the handle in ON position. Make it ON and OFF several times.
